Morton Feldman, Why Patterns

WHY PATTERNS
Choreographer Jonah Bokaer and creative studio Snarkitecture founded by Daniel Arsham and Alex Mustonen is set to release the U.S debut of ‘Why Patterns.’ The dance routine is set on a dark stage with a ping pong ball trigger that sets off while the four dancers are showered with thousands of balls. The trigger releases the balls in different patterns that include dropping, rolling and flooding—and each of these patterns changes the course of the action on stage.

The dance choreography and ball distribution works in harmony with the musical stylings of Morton Feldman to create a fluid and interactive dance display. The captured photos of the dance tour are absolutely mesmerizing, and I can only imagine how much precision and practice goes into creating a show such as this one. One misstep and overzealous ping pong ball is enough to take anybody down.
